Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 c. cocoa powder
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350F.

Grease and flour an 8″x8″ square pan. (Or spray with a baking spray that has flour in it.)

Melt 1/2 c. butter in a large sauce pan.

Remove the sauce pan from heat and stir in 1 c. white sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 tsp. vanilla extract.

Beat in 1/3 c. cocoa powder, 1/2 c. flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. baking powder. Mix well.

Spread the batter into the greased pan.

Bake for 25-35 minutes. Baking time will vary slightly by oven. Mine takes about 35 minutes.

When baking is complete, cool the brownies slightly in the pan, then cut into squares and transfer to a serving platter. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

These brownies are so delicious and moist, they rarely last more than a day and a half in my house. You can add chocolate chips or other flavored chips, or frost them instead of sprinkling with powdered sugar. Like any brownie, there are countless variations you can add to these! Enjoy!

*Note* If you double this recipe, I would suggest using three eggs instead of four. Four eggs makes them very gooey and you have to bake them much longer. I start checking them around 35 minutes, but they’re usually not done until closer to 45 minutes.
